Accounting/Finance Intern

Job Summary: The Accounting/Finance Intern will focus on specific process improvement projects that directly support the 2024 corporate strategy. 

 

Scope of Projects:

 

  • Analyze Finished Goods Inventory accuracy in the general ledger.  Determine Syteline variances/issues and investigate solutions/corrections; Develop corrective action and sustainability plan in CSI10 
  • Develop audit process and full documentation for loyalty program and identify necessary reports/processes for monthly accounting in compliance with GAAP
  • Document 1099 process and validate vendor master data related to this process; update Syteline and develop sustainability plan in CSI10
  • Review current use of Department Codes in Syteline; Develop new structure to align with current reporting and business needs; update Syteline and develop sustainability plan CSI10; codes will be used to drive reporting and budgeting
  • Fixed Asset review for disposals of fully depreciated assets that no longer exist to minimize property tax exposure
  • Other projects as needed

 

Experience and General Skills Required: 

  • Basic Accounting/Finance knowledge
  • Initiative to complete and document project from inception to completion
  • Attention to detail with process improvement mindset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

 

Education Requirements: 

  • The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in accounting/finance.
  • Candidates should be entering their junior or senior year or enrolled in a graduate program. 

 

 

Internship Details & Schedule: This is a paid onsite internship to be completed over the summer of 2024. The timetable of this internship is flexible, depending upon candidate needs. Candidates that are seeking full-time employment upon graduation are encouraged to apply.
